Richard Branston: Your candidate on 3 May 2012
The Labour Party has re-selected Richard Branston as their candidate for Newtown Ward in the City Council elections on 3 May 2012.
Politicians are often accused of only turning up at election times; however Richard is out and about in Newtown at all times of the year. Over the last 11 years Richard has worked hard serving Newton and hopefully, with your support, will be able to continue his work for another 4 years.
Richard has supported residents in a variety of campaigns which have included the campaign to save the Belmont Bowling Club and successfully opposing Devon County Council plans to introduce Pay & Display into Denmark, Barnfield and Athelstan Roads. As well as this he regularly attends meetings of the Newtown Community Association, which provides and supports a variety of community activities and events in and around the hall at Belmont Park.
As ever over the coming months Richard will be going round the ward together with his fellow Councillors Roger Spackman and Richard Westlake to find out if you have any concerns or issues you would like taken up on your behalf. Alternatively, please feel free to contact them directly.
