Rachel Lyons: Your candidate on 3 May 2012
Introducing Rachel Lyons, who has been selected by the Labour Party to stand as their candidate for the 2012 Exeter City Council Elections.
Rachel has lived in Polsloe since 1988, and has 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Previously Rachel lived in the Bristol area where for many years she was a Marie Curie Home nurse and latterly was Matron of a large Nursing Home in Burnham on Sea. She was a local councillor for 15 years, and a school governor.
Rachel served as Labour Councillor for Polsloe from 2000 to 2008, during which time she variously chaired Scrutiny Community, Grants, and latterly the Planning Committee.
She was a Governor at Stoke Hill First School, a Trustee of Home Start, and of Exeter Municipal Charities. She was also Chair of Polsloe Community Association from its outset, a post she has recently stepped down from, and was very involved in the organisation of the Parties in the Park.
