Marcel Choules: Your candidate on 3 May 2012
Thinking about what to write to you, I looked back over the eleven years I have been an Exeter City Councillor and recalled with much pride the huge range of campaigns I have been involved in on behalf of residents Exeter and in particular, Priory Ward.
Perhaps one of the most memorable was when as Lord Mayor I became involved in the charity for The Wonford & St Paul’s Youth & Community Project to fund a community worker. This led me to think about some of the wacky and quite terrifying things I did to raise a huge amount of money for this: sky diving, abseiling and dragon boat racing. I feel very proud and privileged to have been involved with this project.
In the eight years I have served in Priory, there are many equally worthy projects I have fought for, but a few recent ones include: the brilliant multi purpose games area in the Glasshouse Lane area to give focus and sporting interest for young people; a new community drop in centre in Wonford and a Coffee Club for our senior citizens in Glasshouse Lane. I have also worked with our fantastic PCSOs, addressing the issue of Anti Social Behaviour.
My wife Jenny and I have lived in Priory Ward for many years, so this is our community. We meet and mix with residents on a daily basis and in consequence are very in touch with the problems in the area and the impact they have on you, our friends, neighbours and others living in the area. If elected I will represent you with dedication and enthusiasm to help assist with any issues you may have, keep you informed and seek your views on subjects and issues affecting you.
