James Cookson elected in Topsham

Labour remains in control of Exeter City Council following two by-elections in Exeter on Thursday 1 May. 

After Thursday’s vote, Labour has 22 seats, with the Green Party on seven, Liberal Democrats on four, Conservatives three, Independents two and Reform UK on one. 

Labour held its seat in Topsham, with the election of James Cookson, following the resignation of Joshua Ellis-Jones earlier in the year. Turnout in Topsham for the by-election was 39.86%.
