Cllr Richard Branston says: “Cllrs Matt Vizard, Su Aves and I have continued to push the Council’s leadership on this issue.  I am so pleased that the Council has listened and will keep the green spaces and allow the ski club and driving range to continue with their existing leases, as well as providing much needed family homes.”

The first public consultations on the housing plans, in February, have brought many positive reactions from local residents. At www.cliftonhilldevelopment.co.uk are details of these plans which:

  • Will be built to the highest environmental,  sustainable, energy-saving Passivhaus standards
  • Will include 25% affordable homes
  • Include a proposal for an innovative “green street” linking the Clifton Hill green space to Belmont Park for public use and to encourage wildlife
  • Seek to promote sustainable travel and low car use
