Topsham - Exeter City Council Labour Candidate
I am delighted and honoured to represent the Labour Party in Topsham in the May 2021 Council Elections.
I have lived in Devon for 30 years, completing school and university here, raising a family with my partner, in Exeter, where we live. I am a chartered architect, experienced in construction projects of all shapes and sizes, and a winemaker; in 2009 we founded Silverton Vineyard, to make the most sustainable sparkling wine in the country. I love Topsham. Having worked here, and spent time with friends that live here, I have come to know the area well. It is a wonderful place, but parts of it are being left behind. I believe everyone in Topsham should enjoy its beautiful setting and character, and that is achievable: Topsham already has many of the elements required for a sustainable future, but the town and its people need to be cared for to ensure that comes to pass.
I stand for the Labour Party because Labour Party Policies have always supported me, as they have done countless people and families throughout the history of the Party. Without the Labour Party’s commitment to equality, to education, to healthcare and housing, it is unimaginable that a comprehensive boy like me would have the opportunities I have had. It was Labour policy that built the NHS, which cared for my mother, my partner, my children and me in difficult times. It was Labour policy that built the schools where my children learned. It will be a Labour government that restores the wellbeing of this nation when the current shambolic management have gone.
I stand for Labour because it stands for all of us, working together for safety, certainty and hope.
