Richard Branston
Newtown & St Leonards - Exeter City Council Labour Candidate

I am delighted to have been selected as your Labour candidate for the City Council elections in May.
For twenty years as your councillor, I have maintained regular contact with residents by doorstep visits, ward newsletters, emails and telephone.
During my period as Deputy Lord Mayor, I was impressed by the commitment and dedication of those taking on voluntary work in our community. Meeting them has been extremely valuable in helping me deal with the many cases I have come across. I love being a trustee for the Barnfield Theatre, which provides a wide range of activities for all age groups. I arranged an exhibition there for the wonderful artwork created by a group with dementia.
I am proud to be a trustee of Exeter Homes Trust which provides homes for the elderly Exeter residents in Grendon Road, Magdalen Road, North Park and Fairpark Road. I have also been a trustee for Age UK and a volunteer for St Petrocks for many years.
It has been a privilege to represent everyone in Newtown and St Leonards where there is a strong, vibrant community atmosphere. I hope you will vote for me to continue as your local representative as I want to improve life further for the residents e.g. LED lighting in Belmont Park, increase recycling rates, and reduce our impact on climate change for future generations. I look forward to meeting as many residents as I can before May 7th.
If you have any issues, please feel free to get in contact.
