Privatising services like patient transport has been a disaster. Even the Government now admits its huge upheaval of the NHS was a costly and damaging mistake.
Labour will repeal this Government’s Health Act, invest £2.5 billion in more nurses midwives and GPs, funded by raising tax on tobacco companies and a clampdown on tax avoidance. We will also reintroduce the guarantee that you’ll be able to see a GP within 48 hours.
Labour will also improve the early diagnosis of cancer by ensuring people get their tests and results within a week.
